Urology is a broad field. It is most often considered a surgical specialty. A urologist is a physician who specializes in treating urological conditions. He or she also has to have knowledge of internal medicine, gynecology, men’s reproductive systems and other specialties. Patients seek urologists for a vast array of clinical problems. The diseases treated by an urologist include any disease that affects the testes, seminal vesicles, prostate, penis, epididymis in men along diseases affecting the adrenal glands, kidneys, ureters, urethra and bladder.
